Designing spaces can be approached in many ways: interpreting them, manipulating them, negating them, or completely reinventing them. This can be executed in an abstract or concrete manner, austerely or playfully, minimalistically or opulently. A space can convey constriction or expansiveness, can speak of the past or the future.
Every space conceals a story and every story is located in a place. But what kind of story is it? And: do I tell the story all the way to the end or do I leave room for the imagination of the viewers and users? With these questions and 1001 answers, I develop artistic ideas and design spaces for theatres, companies, restaurants and private persons.
Alone or working with architecture studios and workshops, I realise projects that vary widely in type and scale. From the research and planning to the finishing touches, with my network of specialists I make spaces for new working environments, living spaces and spatial installations. I create colour schemes and lighting designs, keep my eye on the costs and always have a hand in producing it myself – so that every detail is right in the end.
